The current tally!
Just for the sake of actually paying attention, Sarah Palin has AGAIN been cleared of any wrongdoing (see the story in the Washington Times). An independent board in her own state has now said 13 out of 13 times that she has not committed any ethics violations and the FCC has said 1 out of 1 times that she has not committed any ethics violations. Oooh, that can't be right. 14 out of 14 times now she has been cleared of ethics violations charges. Huh, that must mean, I don't know, that the media has been lying about Sarah Palin? Imagine that!

Sorry, the FEC, not the FCC.
Somehow, I can't help but think that where there is smoke there is fire. Didn't she appoint the Ethics Board?
You have a point. However, in politics, things aren't always so simple. After all, almost all of the 14 charges brought against her were AFTER she was nominated as Vice President. Seems awfully convenient, doesn't it? It is called politics. Try to discredit the other guy. They (both sides) do it all the time, even though the Democrats are much more effective at it in general. Did she appoint the board? I don't know whether she did or not, but it is referred to as an independent board, which suggests she might have appointed a few members of it, but not all of it, that's usually how those things work. Finally, if there really were any truth to the 14 allegations, you'd think the press, who so obviously can't stand her, would have found some evidence and made something stick. All those investigative reporters and nothing? So, I'd say, while you are often right about smoke and fire, that sometimes, others create smoke as a distraction. That's what I think is happening here.
